~ WELCOME ~

Thank you for visiting the web site of The Parish of Christ the King, 5 Jobs Fishing Road in Mashpee, MA on Cape Cod.

As you visit our site, you will see that we are a vibrant parish offering many opportunities for people to live out their Catholic Christian faith. There are activities and organizations for people of every age and almost every interest. We have a food pantry, a library, and a thrift shop. We have a very active St. Vincent de Paul Society, numerous educational opportunities, social gatherings, and liturgical ministries, and that is just the tip of the iceberg!

Our Mass schedule can be found on the home page and under “schedules/directions” We would love to have you join us as we listen to God’s Word and share in the Eucharist.

You can join the parish by setting up a time to come to the office. If you are registering on line, go to “registration”, fill out the form, and hit “submit”. Someone from the parish will call you to extend a welcome. If you have any questions or comments, please go to “contact us” and all submissions go directly to the parish office, or email me personally at dfhoye@cape.com.

If you live on Cape Cod for only part of the year, you are welcome to join the parish and participate in the various organizations for as long as you are here.

WE ARE A CATHOLIC COMMUNITY OF FAITH

Our Mission Statement ~The Roman Catholic Community of Christ the King Parish has as its purpose: The providing of spiritual nourishment and enrichment to its members through the Holy Spirit, in harmony with the Second Vatican Council; and the offer of welcome to all. This is accomplished by celebrating the sacraments, preaching the Gospel by word and example, and instructing in the truths of the faith. We strive to be present in a spirit of prayer and service to those in need using the talents and gifts of our individual members. We are life~affirming stewards of God’s creation striving to build the Body of Christ.

Thursday June 26, 2014 at 7:00 PM ~  Father Matt Malone S.J.,  “The First Year Of Pope Francis”

America Magazine’s Editor-In-Chief, Father Matt Malone S.J., discusses The First Year of Pope Francis.
Since he was named to lead the Roman Catholic faith, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who took the name of Pope Francis, quickly became the “pope of firsts.” He is the first non-European pope in a millennium. He is the first Jesuit pope, and the first to eschew many of the trappings of the papacy. During his first year, Pope Francis has reenergized the Catholic Church and has shown the world a new face of Catholicism. Fr. Matt has completed his presentation click video to preview.

Tuesday,  July 22, 2014 at 7:00 PM ~ Father Timothy Radcliffe O.P., “Being the Body of Christ Today”

People need to meet Christ today. An abstract message is not enough. We are bodily beings. How can we be His ears, His face, His presence in a world that hungers for God? Fr. Timothy has completed his presentation click video to preview.

Thursday August 7, 2014 at 7:00 PM  ~ Mark K. Shriver , “Faith, Hope and Love in Action”

Mark will use his father’s example to glean insights about the durability of faith, a faith that demands acts of hope and love. How did Sargent Shriver create the Peace Corps, lead the War on Poverty - including the development of such programs as Head Start, Legal Services, Foster Grandparents, and VISTA - expand Special Olympics around the globe, and still attend Mass on a daily basis? How was he happily married for 56 years, raising five kids all of whom loved him, and always so joyful? Sharing the lessons he learned in writing his New York Times best-selling and Christopher Award-winning memoir, “A Good Man: Rediscovering My Father, Sargent Shriver,” Mark will explore the source of his father’s joy—his faith—and how it sustained him through life. It is this faith that can help us all as we strive to be better men and women, to be as good a human being as Sargent Shriver.
