“ Parables and Today’s Church”
Luke wrote his gospel as a secure foundation for what the Church taught
about Jesus. He includes such world famous stories as the Good
Samaritan, Martha and Mary, The Prodigal Son, The Rich Man and Lazarus
and The Pharisee and the Tax-Collector. We will look at how Jesus told
parables and
what message these stories have for us today.

“How to Save the Catholic Church”
The problems confronting the Church in the Third Millennium are indeed formidable. A church in crisis aptly describes our situation. How are we to face and overcome the challenges that range in this country from decreased credibility of leadership to major demographic shifts, from fewer priests to serve a growing Catholic population to new technological advances, from closed parishes and schools to the status of women in the Church? Does the history of our Church offer an insight as to a "way out"? What assets and resources in our tradition can we utilize to save the Catholic Church?
