MISSION STATEMENT
To promote and encourage respect for life from conception to natural death through prayer, education and pro-active support of all life issues.
A PRAYER FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY
UPCOMING EVENTS
Saturday, March 3, 9AM to 12Noon – A guest panel discussion on the upcoming MA Physician Assisted Suicide Bill will take place at Corpus Christi parish in E. Sandwich. Sponsored by the Fall River Diocese Pro-Life Apostolate, the day will begin with Mass at 9 AM, followed by a hot breakfast and presentation at the parish center. Fee - $18.00. Guest panelists: Rev Kevin A. Cook – Pastor of Holy Family Parish, East Taunton; Steven Smith, MD – 2009 Recipient of the “Country Doctor of the Year”; Peter Cataldo – Archdiocese of Boston Chief Healthcare Ethicist; Henry C. Luthin – Boston Attorney. For registration information, call Claire Twitchell 508-428-9106 or Betty Kelley 508-477-8417.
The battle over assisted suicide and euthanasia is not over; advocates of assisted suicide are not resting. While earnest and engaged Americans are focused on the economy, an upcoming presidential primary, and impending Supreme Court battles over the health insurance mandate and same-sex marriage, the culture of death continues to advance largely unnoticed along a front that some had supposed was dormant.
A PRAYER FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY
From all blindness of heart, from pride, vainglory, and hypocrisy; from envy, hatred, and malice, and all uncharitableness, Good Lord, deliver us.

HAVE YOU NOTICED?
The battle over assisted suicide and euthanasia is not over; advocates of assisted suicide are not resting. While earnest and engaged Americans are focused on the economy, an upcoming presidential primary, and impending Supreme Court battles over the health insurance mandate and same-sex marriage, the culture of death continues to advance largely unnoticed along a front that some had supposed was dormant.
CONSIDER THIS
Assisted Suicide is on a slippery slope a short way from euthanasia.
In the Netherlands, since the legalization of assisted suicide, nearly 25,000 deaths each year have resulted from decisions made by doctors who did not consult their patients ahead of time.
DID YOU KNOW?
You can purchase a “Choose Life” license plate at any time. Funds generated from this specialty license plate will be distributed to qualified not-for-profit agencies within Massachusetts that do not counsel in or refer to abortion. This Choose Life license plate is a wonderful way to support the positive choices of life, adoption and safe havens for unwanted pregnancies and newborns. There are now 25 states which make the “Choose Life” license plate available.
WHY IS IT?
That deceptively soothing phrases like “death with dignity” and “aid in dying” give people the impression that they are supporting compassionate care, better pain control, and the right to forego medical treatment that is overly burdensome and unwanted. Nothing could be further from the truth.QUOTABLE
“Legalized euthanasia would involve doctors and nurses…in helping to kill people. It would lead to a society in which the government…would essentially decide which lives are worthy of living, and which people would be better off dead. Already in America, legalized abortion has made it “routine” to kill unborn children. About a million babies are killed this way each year. That is scandal enough. We cannot now allow the killing of the elderly, terminally ill and disabled people to become “routine” also.” Most Rev. Jose H. Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles
MEETINGS
A cordial invitation is extended to anyone who is interested in attending a meeting and/or joining this Ministry. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month in classroom C after the 8:30 AM Mass. Informative round-table discussions include how to pro-actively participate in supporting all life issues.
