M.O.M.S
Ministry of Mothers Sharing
Mission Statement: The purpose of M.O.M.S. is to create in women an awareness of the inner sacred self, while at the same time teaching them new ways to inspire, encourage, and affirm each other. Through the process of personal and spiritual growth, women have the opportunity to clarify their values, claim their own giftedness, and bring these new strengths to their family relationships and to the Christian community.

What Does a M.O.M.S. Program Look Like?
M.O.M.S. is an eight-week journey that leads a group of women through an experience of peer ministry, self-discovery, mutual support, and prayer. Participants use a Personal Journal. Each two-hour session deals with issues that are common concerns in today’s world. In sequential order, the participants explore:
|
Session 1: Self-Esteem and Self-Acceptance What choices influence my self-esteem? Where am I with my self-acceptance?
Session 2: Stress, Worries, and Anxiety
What can I do to recognize and deal with stress productively?
Session 3: Everyday Spirituality
What is my image and experience of spirituality and ministry? How can I name, claim and accept my own feelings and deal with them in my own way? |
Session 5: Personal Growth
How am I being challenged to grow at this time in my life? What values do I express in my relationships? Session 7: Discernment Continuing the Journey ~ What choice do I want to make for my continued personal and spiritual growth? Each participant shares her decision about her choices. Session 8: Celebration of New Beginings An evening of celebration |
M.O.M.S. is essentially peer ministry and is for all who are interested, not just the young with small children, but more seasoned Moms who have walked the journey. You can be a spiritual Mom or birth Mom. This is a wonderful opportunity for who ever wants to grow spiritually in the company of other woman.
