CATHOLIC WOMEN’S CLUB

The Catholic Women’s Club of Christ the King Parish welcomes women of all ages to participate. Members of the Women’s Club focus on its mission which is spiritual renewal, fundraising for the parish, and social events throughout the year. The Women’s Club’s monthly meetings and activities provide opportunities to meet new people, renew friendships, and participate in the vibrant life of Christ the King Parish.

Members of the club are women who enjoy each other’s company while adding to the strength of our parish. Participation in the club provides opportunities for developing social relationships while pursuing individual interests and talents. The club’s activities include meetings, social afternoon and evening events, a summer fair, a bake sale, an annual raffle, a Christmas bazaar, and combined events with other parish organizations.

Summer Fair: Delightful Decorated Lights, Theme Baskets, Holiday Gifts, and Original Paintings and Prints

The Summer Fair is being presented by the Catholic Women’s Club on August 16 and 17, 2008. This is a new initiative and is NOT in place of the annual bazaar. Rather, it has a different focus and items which will attract parishioners and visitors.

The Fair will be held in the Church hall on Saturday, August 16th from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday, August 17th from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

Featured will be decorated glass block lights, theme baskets, holiday gifts, and original paintings and prints. This is an event you will not want to miss!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On June 18, 2008, over 100 members of the Catholic Women’s Club and guests attended the Club’s annual banquet at the Connamessett Inn in Falmouth. The evening provided opportunities to socialize and reflect on the accomplishments of the year. Music throughout the cocktail hour was presented by Joe Malone – who did an excellent job.
One of the highlights of the evening was awarding a $3,000 scholarship to Meghan Sullivan, a recent graduate of Sandwich High School. The $3,000 award was made possible through a donation from the 50+ club of $1,500. The scholarship application process includes several requirements – one of which is service to Christ The King parish. Meghan has an outstanding academic and school and parish activity record, and she has been accepted at Assumption College in Worcester.
The Club members, Msgr. Hoye, the office staff, and the Club’s board of directors were acknowledged for their many significant contributions to making the meetings and other events successful.
Another tradition of the banquet is presenting Msgr. Hoye with a check from the fund raising activities throughout the year. Msgr. received a “big check” of $30,000 which will be used for parish expenses. Msgr. expressed his sincere appreciation to the women for their many contributions to the parish.
