CTK Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry Mission Statement
The Parish of Christ the King youth ministry is
committed to the reality that young people are an important and
integral part of our parish community. The youth program seeks to
foster maturation in faith of the youth of our parish.
We hope to affirm the gifts of our youth and help foster opportunities
for these young people to share their gifts with the larger community.
The spiritual and social needs of our youth are to be met with the
committed leadership, guidance and support of our parish adults. The
adults and youth of our parish are therefore provided with the
opportunity to grow together in Christian faith.
Through a variety of programs, events and outreach, we seek to draw
young people into responsible participation in the life, work and
mission of the parish community. We believe this ministry is for young
people and will be a blessing for the entire community.
Welcome to Christ the King Youth Ministry
Discipleship, community, mission and worship are what we are all about.
Our youth ministry exists to expose teenagers to God’s love. Through
weekly, monthly and special events, we will strive to form a Christ
centered community where fellowship is shared through regularly
scheduled social events and faith journey. While youth ministry
directly serves the youth of our parish from grades seven through high
school, we will strive to work in community with the entire parish. I
look forward to working with such an enthusiastic group of individuals!

YM Annual Christmas Party
![]() |
|
The annual Christmas party began with a special focus on prayer for the
community of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Newtown Connecticut. After
reading a letter detailing their need for prayers and Christmas cards as
they endure this difficult time of healing, we prayed and wrote cards
and notes of support. In addition to the notes, the youth ministry
teens made crafts and Christmas ornaments that became part of a package
sent out to the Connecticut parish youth group community which is
expected to arrive at their location on Christmas Eve. Included with
the handwritten notes were photos of the group, the parish and a printed
page from our website.
The night also included our annual Letters to Santa campaign. The
students helped Santa reply to the children of the parish who sent
letters to him.
The service portion of the evening was followed by a night of indoor
volleyball, Just Dance Wii games, cookie swap, refreshments and our
annual good natured Yankee Swap. Even Santa got in on the swap this
year!
A great time was had by all!

Eight students from Christ the King Parish completed the week long Christian Leadership Institute. The Christian Leadership Institute, sponsored by the Office of Faith Formation, of the Diocese of Fall River, is a week long leadership training experience for high school age youth. C.L.I. seeks to foster the leadership potential of young men and women and to heighten each young person’s awareness of leadership and ministerial roles and responsibilities in the parish and high school setting.
